Purpose
The
overall goals are to: mobilize public and private resources to develop
the most promising, cost-effective methods for identifying and controlling
key housing-related environmental health and safety hazards; build
local capacity to operate sustainable programs that will prevent
and control housing-related environmental health and safety hazards
in low- and very low-income residences when HUD funding is exhausted;
and affirmatively further fair housing and environmental justice.
Eligible
Applicants
Not-for-profit
institutions and for-profit firms, state and local governments,
housing authorities, federally-recognized Indian Tribes, and colleges
and universities. For-profit firms are not allowed to make a profit
from the project.
